What is CopyTrade and Copy Trade Platforms in Forex?

In short Copytrade or Copy Trade platforms in Forex are simple. They mirror or replicate the trades of one account onto another account(s). This way a trader does not need to place the same trade multiple times across accounts, instead they are placed nearly instantly across all connected accounts.

The “Signal Account” can also be called the “Master Account”, this is the account that is placing the trades someone wishes to copy. The “Follower Account” or “Copier Account” is the account the copied trades are received on. When a trade is placed on the Signal Account Gravity Markets’ platform detects a trade has been made and then sends the signal to Copier Accounts to open the same trade.

In the past PAMM and MAM systems were used to pool together funds so everyone can share in the risk of the trades as well as receive a portion of the profits. Unfortunately there are many flaws in those systems. For example once accounts are connected to a MAM or PAMM it can be difficult to remove them and you may not be able to modify any of the trades, especially troublesome if the fund manager trades a way you don’t feel comfortable, your’e left helpless. In addition, usually PAMM and MAM systems are provided by brokers. While this isn’t by itself an issue, but some brokers will profit off client losses so they may manipulate execution or trades on accounts or allocation of trade sizes in ways that are detrimental to a client’s account.
